Scorpion giving new awards to Modified, Stock Car drivers Posted on June 18, 2009 at 09:42:28 am FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Scorpion Performance, a company soon to triple its manufacturing capability, expands to the circle track racing market this season as a new sponsor for two IMCA divisions. Scorpion will give product and product certificate awards to drivers in both the IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car classes. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. company, nearing the completion of a new 30,000 square foot facility in Ocala, will give a set of Scorpion Race Series rocker arms to the driver with the most feature wins in each of the five Modified regions and in both Stock Car regions. Second through fifth place finishers in regional point standings for both divisions will receive $100 product certificates. “We are already very well known in the drag racing industry. Now we’re going to market to the circle track market,” said Scorpion Vice President of Marketing Scott Reynolds. “There are a lot of Saturday night racers and a huge fan base as well. We look forward to being involved with IMCA and creating a long-term relationship to expose our products to racers and fans.” In addition to rocker arms, Scorpion has expanded its product line to include high performance lifters, pushrods, valves and valve springs. The company also manufactures high performance fuel rail kits and throttle bodies. Scorpion’s new plant will open early this fall, with state-of-the-art robotic equipment operating 24/7. “We’ve been getting a lot of calls and e-mails the last few months from people telling us they appreciate that we manufacture in the U.S.,” Reynolds said. “We can beat our overseas competitors at their own low price game because of our massive automation.” “The fact that these products are made in America is the icing on the cake,” he added. “We offer our customers better products and have a much faster delivery time.” Scorpion Performance markets and distributes its products through another company, Scorpion Racing Products. More information about those products is available by calling 954-779-3600 and at the www.scorpionracingproducts.com website. "The fact that Scorpion is expanding to the extent they are at this time is a testament to the success of their products and an indicator to IMCA racers that they are serious about making quality components for the dirt track market,” said Kevin Yoder, director of marketing for IMCA. “A great new relationship has been forged and we look forward to our members being able to use American-made Scorpion engine parts for years to come."
